10-27-06 It's 02:00 am, just got back from the Halloween Concert. Black April rocked with the Rock, a cover band of classic rock. There were about 300+ people dressed in their Halloween customs, and bobbing their heads to the sound of Black April. It was freaking awesome. Michael was a natural with the mic. What can we say about Kevin, his bass parts fit perfectly with our music. Thanks for the invitation, the Rock.

10-18-06 A new setup for the Halloween Concert on 10-27-06. Black April has invited Kevin Richardson bassist of the (former) WhipLADS and Falling Moon to play bass while our bass player, Michael Tran set aside his guitar and focus on lead singing. Welcome to the gang, Kevin.

The Asia Entertainment and Saigon Television Broadcasting Network (DirecTV-STBN) are hosting an Outdoor Concert on Sunday, June 25, 2006 from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m, at Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove, California. The event is to honor the South Vietnamese Veterans and their families whom have been injured and/or affected by the Vietnam War. All proceeds will benefit the men and women who are struggling in Vietnam. BLACK APRIL will be one of the guest bands. Please come out and support a positive cause. Peace! _____________________________________________________________ April 26, 2006 From all the musicians involved in the Live Rock at CAN on April 22, 2006, we would like thank anh Kiet Tuan Huynh from Nguoi Viet Daily News, Le Trung Khang (Ken) from Saigon Broadcasting Television Network (SBTN), chi Giang Ngoc from DirecTV-SBTN, Billy Hung from Viet Express, and Johnny Nguyen from Xposure. They came to the show with their camera crew, tape recorders and covered the show from the open acts (in order) with Pete Nguyen, Thomas' Apartment, David Tran, then the finale, Black April. Our dream and vision have been achieved. Introducing new faces and rock music to the Vietnamese communities around the US, Canada, and Australia. We hope our concert will encourage or at least open doors to new Vietnamese bands and musicians to perform in both the Vietnamese and mainstream.

I'd always envisioned the chance to have one night to ourselves where all of our favorite bands could come together and play and we could run it the way we wanted. There was such a great energy that just kept rolling all night long! It's great to see your friends playing, one after the other without being interrupted by the house band to play for another cha cha singer. I wish I had control over the sound and power problems but everyone hung in there like troopers and recovered very gracefully! The audience wasn't bothered by the problems in the least! Tyler, I was skeptical, but it turned out very well! Thomas' Apt... what can I say? You guys are so tight and get better every time I see you. Your stage presence and energy make you the headliners of any venue you play! Thomas, I'll always be reminded of your kindness and touching words. YOU are the talented one! Jesse, I've been hearing about you all day! What great energy you had! If you click these pictures fast enough, it looks like a movie. If you had anymore girls climbing on you, we might have to give these pics an R rating! Peter, you are so talented it's not even funny! You could fit into any band! You belong on stage, you have great presence there. Hearing you play your songs brings me right back to UCI! I hope I had some small influence in the way you arranged them for a rock band. I'd love to say I can't wait to do this again with you all again, but I've got to put together another band, man! What's it gonna be this time? People hitting our website seem to suggest I should get with the times and right "modern" music. Can you see me doing Emo or Screamo? LOL! _____________________________________________________________ April 1, 2006 Press Release: Black April is proud to present the first Live Rock Concert in the Vietnamese community. The event will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at the CAN Club in Garden Grove, California. Live entertainment will be performed by Alternative Rockers Pete Nguyen, David Tran, Thomas’ Apartment, and the main band Black April. The purpose of this event is Live Rock. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce new sounds and artists to the Vietnamese community by playing original music and compositions. We are targeting youth groups across the spectrum of high school students to young adults but would be pleased if it reaches beyond our bordered expectations. We have carefully researched many Vietnamese music avenues by listening to old and new tapes and CD’s. We have also watched countless DVD’s and rummaged through the aisles of selections at local “little Saigon” stores and found it to be lacking of one type of music…Rock! Not a single band or performer was discovered during our search. With this in mind, we would like to grab hold of this chance to unveil Asian listeners of American Hip Hop and Rock to Vietnamese influenced Rock. Our experience from performing our original music at the American clubs, bars, festivals, and school events provides us with the confidence that we will be able to lead a new trendy revolution and open doors for other up and coming Vietnamese musicians to this venue. We are asking for your help in promoting our Live Rock Concert to the Vietnamese communities in “Little Saigon”, San Jose, Texas, and around the globe.
